"MOMO"

performances 2023

Thanks to the bold choreographic voice of Ohad Naharin and to the uncompromising

quality of the company’s dancers, Batsheva Dance Company has been critically

acclaimed and popularly embraced as one of the foremost contemporary dance

companies in the world. Together with The Batsheva Ensemble, the Company boasts a

roster of 40 dancers drawn from Israel and abroad. It is Israel’s largest dance

company, maintaining an extensive performance schedule locally and internationally with

over 250 performances and circa 100,000 spectators

every year.

MOMO

program

“MOMO’ revitalizes our sense of wonder, astonishment, enchantment, and spontaneity. Washing away all the hierarchies that have embedded themselves in our minds. Watching it, our senses cross wires, spatial and temporal orientation slips away, and expression is intense like no other.” - Anat Zecharia

MOMO has two souls. One sends long roots to the depths of the earth – a soul that embodies archetypes and myths of hardened, raw masculinity, and the other is in a constant search for an individual and distinct DNA; one moves within its own autonomous and independent force field and the other is a constellation of elements that spin around the same nucleus – alternately drifting away and towards it, making room for necessary tenderness and catharsis.
